The Do Dham Yatra is one of the most sacred pilgrimages in India, offering devotees an opportunity to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva at Kedarnath and Lord Vishnu at Badrinath. Nestled amidst the majestic Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, this spiritual journey combines devotion, breathtaking landscapes, and a deep connection with nature. The Do Dham Yatra is an ideal option for pilgrims who wish to experience the spiritual significance of the Char Dham circuit within a shorter duration.
Kedarnath, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is located at an altitude of approximately 3,583 meters, while Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in Hinduism and a part of the Char Dham circuit. Together, these two holy shrines represent the divine blessings of both Shiva and Vishnu, making the Do Dham Yatra a highly auspicious pilgrimage.
Kedarnath Dham: Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Kedarnath is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India and among the twelve Jyotirlingas. Surrounded by snow-capped Himalayan peaks, the temple offers a truly divine atmosphere and an unforgettable spiritual experience.
Badrinath Dham: Located on the banks of the Alaknanda River, Badrinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is one of the most visited pilgrimage destinations in the country. The temple’s scenic surroundings and spiritual significance attract millions of devotees every year.
The yatra season generally begins in April or May and continues until October or November, depending on weather conditions and temple opening schedules. The months of May, June, September, and October are considered ideal for a comfortable pilgrimage experience.
